The event last night was a really enjoyable and unique experience. Seeing the crowd dancing and truly enjoying the orchestra made it even more special — it’s not something you usually see at this kind of performance. There were moments that felt powerful and energetic, and others that were more intimate, which kept everything engaging the whole time. Overall, it felt like more than just a concert. It was definitely an incredible experience — authentic

There are so many people who makePASO such a treasure of the Washington, DC-area arts scene, especially for those of us who love and dance tango. Sergio's warmth, enthusiasm, and joy in bringing musicians together to perform new and old classics for us, as well as Maureen's behind the scenes efforts to keep everything moving, as well as all the musicians who coalesce from time to time to bring Sergio's vision together - these are all essential to the PASO experience.
I really loved seeing this event! I have attended in the past and would see it again in the future. I love the orchestra and the dancers! It is tragic what is happening at the Kennedy Center, where this show has been presented previously. Ever consider coming to Baltimore? A lot of the artists leaving the Kennedy Center are coming to Baltimore to present. We would love to see you!!!

An incredible celebration of tango and the masters. We try to attend every year and it is always a highlight for us. I especially enjoyed that this year the program featured a more nuanced and varied selection of pieces. Hearing from the director about the history and context is a joy. Also, the orchestra overall sounded incredible. Even stronger than before if it’s possible. I loved the seemingly expanded string section. Impressive young talent.
Great performance
There is no other orchestra in the area that plays this kind of music and with such quality musicianship and energy. It is a true treasure.

How did you like the event?
I understand Sergio's preference for symphonic performances that require the entire orchestra, but when PASO plays a dedicated milonga, it allows we veteran social dancers to dance to the great classics of tango's golden age. Many of the songs that the stripped down PASO performed for us are usually reserved for the special guest performers brought in from NYC, FL or BA. This was a rare, special evening for all of us. More, please!
I really liked it — seeing and meeting new people getting involved in the local community made it even more special.
Everyone loved the venue and the performance. It was truly a gift be able to dance tango with a such talented musicians and conductor. Looking forward to the next one.

Another magnificen PASO and Dancers Performance. Magnificent.
Excellent performance! Very exciting.
As a patron of PASO for over three decades, I've seen the orchestra perform at Trinity College, the Argentine Embassy, GWU, the Kennedy Center and other venues. Last night's performance at the Kreeger offered tango aficionados a cozy and intimate venue to enjoy the music and dance that PASO brings to life. Despite the craziness of navigating one's way down to ground zero for the peak bloom of DC's cherry blossoms at The Wharf, this was a wonderful event!

“The Soul of Tango” featured a range of pieces from the earliest recordings, like the playful El Choclo, to the haunting modern compositions of Piazzolla, Oblivion and Milonga del Angel, to a tender waltz. Three pair of outstanding dancers added movement and connection to the captivating show that exemplified the soul of tango.

Good music, great dancers
Beautiful tango show with fabulous music and dance.
So many aspects to love. The dancers this year outdid themselves. While the arena space seemed challenging with even some set pieces seemingly leftover from a different production obscuring stage access for the director and dancers, the orchestra handled it like the pros they are. I would not have as much patience or grace for the venue mishaps or sound engineering oversights. Yet Passo managed to turn it all around into another memorable performance.
A new venue - the Kreeger Theater. Sound was very good and though seating is a bit tight, the overall experience was wonderful.
